All Levels Yoga

All Levels Yoga is where we move with our breath, so beginners are welcome! Your instructor will modify postures and encourage you to listen to your body. We will do some warming up on the mat and then move into standing postures for half of the class. After working on some balance, we will make our way onto the mat and do some backbends and hip openers, a good and balanced "whole body" yoga practice.

Intermediate Yoga

A fun and invigorating yoga class, based on linking movement with breath. An energizing flow infused with sun salutations, standing postures and some of the more basic arm balances, inversions and backbends. The teachers keep these classes lively with music and new and interesting postures; no two classes are the same! Basic yoga knowledge is recommended for a more enjoyable experience, but all stages of the posture are explained so that all levels feel welcome.

This is a challenging and unique workout designed to sculpt and strengthen your entire body as well as increase flexibility. Use the barre and your own body weight along with light free weights to define and tone your body. The exercises featured in this class will help you develop greater definition in your arms and shoulders as well as tone your abs and lower half. Class features a mix of yoga, pilates, and ballet. Please note that no shoes are worn in this class. All levels welcome!

Karma Hour of Yoga

Doing something good for society on a Friday night? Yes, please! This is an all levels yoga class, EVERYONE is welcome including BEGINNERS. Home Yoga & Barre wants to make a difference in the community, so 100% of all proceeds from these Friday evening classes will go to a specific charity that we are donating to that month! We will keep everyone up to date on which charity or organization we are helping. Each class drop in is only $8 for these Karma classes.

These classes will be held twice monthly and will be noted on the site under Workshops.

Hatha Yoga

Hatha is the foundation of many yoga styles. It incorporates poses, pranayama (breathing techniques), and meditation to cultivate an even state of mind, a well body, and reduced stress. The word hatha suggests balance; ha and tha mean "sun" and "moon" respectively. Hatha yoga can be relaxing on its own, or it can form a foundation for more rigorous practice.

Yin Yoga

Come to the edge....

The practice of yin yoga provides the perfect balance to your active yoga practices and your busy life.
Focusing on long-held floor poses combined with breath work and meditation, yin yoga goes beneath the superficial muscles to target the dense connective tissues of the body - often in the hips, pelvis, and low back - which are difficult to open and can result in both limited flexibility and stagnant energy.
This deep practice is gentle, yet intense, helping students not only to open the body, but also to cultivate the ability to observe and stay with sensation.

All levels welcome.

Pilates & Barre

Barre Pilates is a fusion class that combines Barre and Pilates. This class is for all levels, regardless of past experience.  Most moves include a modification for beginners and advanced options for more experienced students. The format of the class generally begins with standing Barre moves utilizing the Barre and at times working on balance. We then move onto the mat to practice some classic Pilates mat moves. We occasionally utilize the Barre mini-ball or yoga straps to assist our moves. Both the Barre and Pilates moves we practice focus on using your power house, or your core, which is the center of your body. All the moves promote both strength and flexibility. This type of training helps to improve posture, reduce stress and create a long, lean body without bulking up.

Gentle Yoga

Gentle Yoga is exactly what it sounds like! We will warm up with gentle movements during the first few moments of class, some balance poses toward the middle of class, and then work our way into a few more slow and deep stretches through the rest of class. A great class to wind down from the day, calming the breath and the mind, and allowing yourself to have a great restful night! This class can be modified for everyone.

Restorative Yoga

Restorative yoga is a practice that uses props such as bolsters, blankets, and blocks to support the body to achieve deep relaxation. Each class will begin with a slow, gentle flow to establish breath connection and warm the body for rejuvenation in the restorative postures to follow. Appropriate for all levels.

Yin Yang Yoga All Levels / Beginner

Yin/Yang Yoga combines a yin yoga practice with a short, gentle flow. Each class begins with a series of held, yin postures. While surrendering into postures for 3-5 minutes, practitioners are guided in the cultivation of observance, breath, and meditation, as they experience release of connective tissues and deeply held, stagnant energy. The practice concludes with a simple standing flow that allows students to integrate this newly-released energy, openness, and awareness into a sense of steadiness and alignment in more active standing postures and movement before returning to a deep, final relaxation. Suitable for all levels.
