5 Signs You Need Self-Care

A new season is upon us and not gonna lie, I get all jazzed up about new monthly and seasonal goals!

If you know me, you know I’m a nutbag that loves anything with self-care and yet - its a challenge for me as well! Just like yoga and meditation, I need to constantly be reminding myself to be aware of my daily, weekly, and monthly needs and adjust based on how I feel.

Sounds easy, right?

Easier said than done, that’s for sure. 😉

So here are some signs to take you into the holiday weekend that you may be in need of some self-care and “me time”.

1. You skip breakfast (or another meal).
2. You skimp on sleep.
3. You’re on autopilot.
4. You have no boundaries for yourself and are constantly doing things for others.
5. Here’s a big one. You forget there is anything really special about you.

I am SO excited to be able to offer something fun and different to our students at Home Yoga & Barre as well as anywhere - because this self-care course I’ve been planning will be fully ONLINE! So you can practice this in the comfort of your own home.

From now until September 15th, like 5 days away, this course is only $35. Similar courses cost almost $200 so if you’re even the least bit interested, please take advantage. My goal is to make this as accessible as possibly to people that really need it, but the price will be raising to $97 on September 15, 2019.

Looking to be the best YOU? Join me on this 30 day self-care journey starting October 1, 2019. The email communications for this will be sent on September 29, 2019. Are you ready to feel LIMITLESS?

You will get:

  • 5 discussion videos throughout the course that you may watch on your own time as it is launched.

  • 1 guided meditation video with myself.

  • Weekly group Q&A's with myself.

  • Daily tools to use for continuous self-care practice and strategies.

  • Forever Access to an online Facebook support group.

  • Daily email access from myself with any questions or feedback.

  • Better self-talk, the ability to spread positivity, and the belief that you are LIMITLESS.

Sound good to you?!

A Morning Routine & Anxiety

So I began an early morning routine. Basically, due to my anxiety, or maybe my messy sleep patterns caused the anxiety - who knows - I decided to make it a regular routine to go to bed at 10pm and wake up at 5am.

Now, I am still transitioning, but even when I awake around 5:30am, I am able to leave for work at 7:30am refreshed, focused, awake, and ready to take on the day!

I made this decision after doing much research on the topic of self-care and observing my own habits and productivity.

Here's how it goes...

  • 5:00am - 5:30am Wake Up
  • 5:30am - 6:00am Workout/Yoga/Coffee and Read a Book (Depends on the Day)
  • 6:00am - 6:10am Meditate
  • 6:10am - 6:20am Journal
  • 6:20am - 7:00am Shower and Get Ready for Work/Tidy Up
  • 7:00am - 7:30am Eat Breakfast and Relax before Leaving

Much of this is self-care. I used to do meditation, yoga or workout, journaling - in the evening and wouldn't feel grounded for the majority of the day. This way, I ground myself first thing and feel refreshed so I can tackle work tasks efficiently and in a more balanced way.

Studies have shown that people who wake up earlier are more productive and more focused. This time in the morning also helps us to feel free to express creatively for a few hours. After reading Big Magic, I know this is much more important than most of us think - to live creatively. It's something we need to do to get back into our skin every day. It keeps us grounded and secure. We are aware of our priorities when we are creatively living and just going with the flow.

I am grateful for this routine, because it has helped me to go with the flow once more after several months of battling much more extreme anxiety than I have in over 5 years.

Give it a try!
